Marketing Manager

Job Summary / Overview:

Position overview statement: Support the marketing team in managing product launches, development of promotional material, tradeshow management, and label development. Provide day-to-day and ongoing sales support including development of customer communications. Prepare for and participate in all forecasting sessions. Work with internal teams and partners to specify product requirements.

Success in the role is measured on:

  • Meeting financial targets for each quarter and the full fiscal year.

  • Ensuring launch readiness for all new products and labeling updates

  • Sales and customer feedback


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Launch and commercialize profitable products in a timely manner and on budget to meet sales objective.

  • Prepare business inputs for the forecasting sessions, review product demand and product margin positioning and participate in forecasting sessions.

  • Develop product labels for upcoming product launches and support prioritization of labeling activities.

  • Manage brand strategy and promotional tactics for launched and launching products.

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of customers, competitors and general marketplace dynamics to ensure optimal marketing programs.

  • Support Sagent Sales team related to products and promotion.

  • Represent Sagent’s requirements on external manufacturer and vendor interactions.

  • Perform analytics needed to support marketing’s management of the generic business


Knowledge or Experience:

  • Ability to multitask

  • Interact with people in different organizations at high level

  • Forecasting and working within a budget

  • self-directed, task oriented

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage and excel with minimal supervision by senior staff

  • Effectively prioritize workload and manage time to complete assigned projects within established timelines and goals

  • Proficient in the FDA and internal rules/guidelines for Marketing and Advertising Review Process

  • Excellent MS Office skills


Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

  • 4- 6 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably 2 years in the generic and/or hospital business

  • Minimum of 2 years sales and/or marketing experience

  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy or hospital selling is a plus

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and a flexible team-oriented perspective

  • Ability to oversee multiple and competing projects in a fast-paced, changing team environment

  • Have a passion for quality and an impeccable detail orientation

  • Clear understanding of pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, marketing and regulatory processes

  • Ability to understand market trends, financial data, and customer needs and assess competitive intelligence data

  • Skills in the areas of pricing, reimbursement, messaging, branding, and creative product/program development

  • Solid business acumen and project management


Education / Certifications:

  •  Bachelor Degree required, MBA Preferred


Travel Requirements:

  • 10-15%
